Waiting...
Boy, what a difference a day makes in the weather. Today was rainy, overcast, and rather cool, the first time it hasn’t been sunny and warm since we’ve been here. We left for Torez earlier than usual, we took the copier and the rest of the toys and gave them to the Director and his wife. They seemed to be pretty happy with everything. Jenna was a little slow to warm up again today, I think she realizes something is about to change from all she’s ever really known and it seems to be affecting her. Bless her heart, if she only knew, but that’s hard to explain to a 3 yr old. Anyway, we had to stay inside because of the weather. Her group was nearby in the playroom, and every now and then, one would poke his or her head out the door and laugh, giggle, or wave. It’s so hard not to scoop them all up and head out the door. Jenna was mostly a Mama’s girl, as we ate pretzels, read books, and played with kukla (doll).
The timeline is starting to shape up now. Next Monday we pick up the court decree, race to get their new birth certificates, pick up the kids, get their passport pictures and then passports. We’ll take the overnight train that evening to Kiev, where on Tuesday, we’ll be going to get their medicals, to the NAC, and interview at the Embassy. The plan is to fly home on Wednesday, hopefully. Lufthansa has already hosed us, they were unable/unwilling/uncaring to change our ticket$, so looks like we’ll have to take KLM, still firming that up. After we get home, we don’t care if all the airlines go bankrupt (Lord, forgive us for our bitterness).
Boys, hope you’re having a good week, please don’t get tired of hearing how much we miss you. Almost there!

Don't forget our hero's wore tights, Batman, Superman, Robin Hood (oops maybe not).
Be safe and hurry home, we can hardly wait for you (pl.) to arrive.

Not long now...I am so excited for you guys. The end is most definately in sight. Maybe I should say beginning. Either way, I can't wait to know you are back home safely. I've gotten kind of used to talking/blogging everyday. Will you e-mail me and send me pictures? There are so many exciting days ahead. Their homecoming, first day at the beach, Thanksgiving, Christmas, first visit to Texas... I don't want to miss any of them. Try and get some rest. I know the train/plane/automobile ride home is going to be a great story.
Love you guys!Sally

Hi Jennie & Jeff
Sounds like a repeat of the early July days with Lufthansa. If you remember I was one of the last to get a ticket out of Kiev after a 5.5 hour wait, in line, on my feet ...OUCH !!!!
Joseph Edward and Jenna Leeza are absolutely beautiful additions to the family. I agree that the tights are a super hero thing, nothing to be ashamed of!! I'm sure that many years from now, you can all look back and read the blog comments with tears and laughter.
But right now I'm feel you're frustrated/tired/homesick also I believe that the Lord will forgive your feeling towards the airline$ that ho$e people without remor$e. After my dealing$ with Lufthansa in July my thoughts for them could not be published here ;-) Never met her, but I'll bet Sally can think of a few for me !! ;-)Any way, I'll continue to pray for all of you and your return trip.
DISCLAIMER...The opinion stated about the airline above is strictly the author's viewpoint, anyone that does not agree can reach me @ www.byte... OH nevermind
Take care Jeff E.

Jeff & Jennie,
Hey guys! You would have more messages from me but several times my sweet Jackson has prevented me from doing so. You see... Jackson doesn't like Mommy working on the computer alone and just when I think I've got him occupied he'll barrell in here when I have a note almost finished and then he'll push that pretty blue button light before I can catch him and blam! no more note, no more computer. Anyway... your journey there is nearing to an end and your next journey is about to begin. How wonderful!! I can only imagine that it might get harder to wait as the time gets closer. Oh how my heart aches and wells up for you all at the same time. I saw your two precious boys at church this past Sunday and I was struck by their sweetness and the very very proud look on their faces and their eyes. Just in those moments I spoke with them I received such a sense of how proud, excited, and committed they are. Hang in there and we'll keep praying...
Love you lots,
Pamela
P.S. I sure would like to meet Aunt Sally

Loved Jeff E.'s email re the airlines! ...and it seems Sally has a fan club (of which I am a member...) Jeff and Jennie, I too have seen that look, that Pamela so beautifully described, in Jacob and Justin's eyes....it is very moving. What an exciting time for you all and for those of us who are privileged to know you. thanks for having this blog so we could be "a part of it"....My prayers are with you still and with Jacob and Justin (as well as Aunt Mary)...Remember that He will be a light unto the rest of the path, just as He has been all along...
Grace and Peace,
Cathy J.

Hi J&J,
Sorry about the airline fiasco. Seems like they're all about inconveniencing the customers, as opposed to actually helping anyone out. But just think - you'll be home soon! I agree with Sally (I'm also a member of her fan club- so funny!) I've gotten so used to hearing about all your day-to-day stuff that I'll really miss reading your blog when you're back home. You'll have to keep all of us who live far away from you guys informed about all the firsts and highlights till we can see everybody in person.
I know you guys probably don't know whether the kids have motion sickness, but after thousands of hours spent driving long distances with my kids, I would STRONGLY recommend Dramamine for the trip home. In addition to keeping them from yakking all over both of you, requiring dozens of changes of clothes for everybody, it makes them drowsy and sleepy, which is a good thing when you have so far to go!
Hang in there - you're almost done!!!
Love,
Mandy Eddie Liam and Dayna
