Quick Note

Hope everyone faired well during Ophelia. We are thinking of all of you and pray all is well. Read the Daily News and sounds like quite a bit of flooding downtown. Added some pictures of Joseph Edward today. Thanks for calling Mom and looking out for the boys.

  • Hi Jen and Jeff,
Sorry I woke you up the other night. I really hadn't expected an answer as every call I had tried to make prior to that never went thru. I decided it was because Sprint woulndn't allow 1010345 calls to go thru so used my phone card and lo and behold you answered. it was great to hear your voices even if they were a bit sleepy. I didn't go to the office yesterday as most of the city and county offices were closed. Thank heavens John sandbagged the basement doors. The water in the pond backed up right to them, about a foot deep. Some water seeped in but the sump pump and sand bags in the basesment kept it under control. Union Point did flood but that is par for the course...it alsways floods. I think the gazebo may have experienced some damage, nothing that bad tho. The towns along the coast fared bad...the slow and constant pounding of water caused a great deal of damage to many buildings. Jenna Lezza and Edward are darling. We can't wait to meet and hold them. Have you been given a date on when you can go to court and complete the legal work and plan on returning? It will be great to have you all back home. I know you were frustrated to be there knowing the hurricane was beating up eastern NC but it must have also been comforting to know the boys were in good hands with Mary, Jason and Judy looking after them. Well, my dear kids, I must get back to work. MUMfest is just afew weeks away and losing 2 days means intense catch-up work. Lots of Love MOM and John
