Another Slow Saturday

Very slow day today. We did not get to go see Jenna or Joseph. Jennie was able to go shopping with Lora, Ira, and Anna. We needed to get some things for Joseph’s caregivers as well as some other things. We began getting our packing situated, anyone have a private jet they’re not using on Wednesday? Kostya’s birthday party got called off because his son Nikita is really sick. Anna’s visit has been really nice, she cooked us bleenes (sp?) for dinner tonight, very good! I think Jennie and I are both coming down with a cold so we’re trying to rest up for the big sprint for the finish line starting Monday.

Justin and Jacob, hope your games went well today. Today’s the last one Mom and I will miss. So next Saturday, we’ve got a lot of cheering to make up for, plus you’ll both have two new fans thinking how great their big brothers are! Love to all, and Sally, it looks like Houston was spared, please give us an update when you can.

  • Hello old friend,

I called the house this morning as you've been heavily on my mind. Char informed me of all the great news! You are blessed with four beautiful children, and each other! You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you journey home. Love to you all -

  • And of course I had to stop crying long enough to post the above. I am my father's daughter!

  • Oh, no, you guys, YOU CAN'T GET SICK NOW!!!!!!!!! Not sure about pharmacies over there, but stock up (if you can) on Cold-Eze and drink gallons of water!!! The trip home is looming . . . I know you're counting the minutes by this point. Hopefully I'll win the Powerball drawing tonight, and I will buy you guys a private plane to jet home!!

  • J&J,

    Hey you two,

Can't keep a thing from sisters & brothers in Christ regardless of the miles now can we? I saw your personal post to us several days ago and honestly I was so touched and overwhelmed I just couldn't respond. And then again another post the other day. Yes, it has been awfully difficult as you very well know but there is amazing comfort in knowing that Fred is whole and healed and laughing with the angels and touching the hem of his garment. Oh, how God has been good through all of this. And of course I know you love us so much you wouldn't have minded a bit if I had told you when it had happened (two weeks ago today) but at first it was a shock and we were so busy and then that nasty hurricane and we lost power and then I just didn't want anything to put a damper on your happiness. I will give Sue your regards -- I have been keeping her updated and she's logged on herself a few times too. I sure pray you guys fend off those cold germs and get well for your luggage marathon. I'm so excited that your journey home is about to begin. We'll keep our love and prayers coming.

    Love,
    Pamela & Paul

P.S. Elana & Joey had baby #3 this morning, Breana Grace, 9lbs. 8oz!

  • Thanks for the news about Nikita I read in your blog. I am so sorry to hear that he is sick and that his illness cancelled the birthday party for Kostya. We were there for Kostya's 30th birthday and it was a very nice party near a lake. We sang hymns in russian and english, ate Olga's wonderful cooking and visited with their wonderful friends. I am so sorry you missed out on having the celebration. We pray that Nikita recovers quickly and without any lasting effects.
So glad to hear that you are entering the home stretch. It is wonderful when you finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. How much fun you are going to have with your two new angels and getting back with your boys. Even tho' we have never met, I feel like I know you just a little bit from reading your wonderful blog, (which I have been following daily.) Thanks for sharing your story with all of us. Good luck and God Speed in this final week!

  • Jeff and Jennie,
David Paul and I saw Jacob play yesterday and he looked so cute in his uniform,,,,they did not win put they made some good plays ...(I had to leave before the end but Mary Brooks told me they did not win so I do not know the score). It was very , very HOT yesterday and I felt sorry for those boys in their uniforms...Andy and Angie Bean were there sitting with us, so Jacob had some extra cheering fans yesterday...I saw Char leaving the field with Corrine and Christopher and their faces were so red from the heat...little Christopher looked like a melted cherry popsicle! Mary and Jason took video of the game...
I hope and pray that you all feel better and can fend off those sniffles...flying with a cold (a two little ones) is not fun...
You will be home soon...and all are glad. I am glad Rita wasn't as bad as it could have been ...will be glad when Sally is back on line...but it wasn't good for New Orleans again...what a mess.
    Love,
    Cathy J.
